Adrian Beltre ties Musial, Stargell on homers list

Adrian Beltre has had one of those long lasting MLB careers.  The third baseman’s ability to stand up to the passage of time has allowed him to move into 30th on the all-time homers list with 475 typing Stan Musial and Willie Stargell.

Beltre, 39, has 13 homers on the season and sports a .273/.333/.425 batting line in 111 games this season. His name had been mentioned as a trade candidate prior to the September 1 deadline but in the end the Rangers never made much of an effort to trade him.

Without a contract for 2019, Beltre will have to make a decision on whether he wants to continue playing. The belief has been that he could do so as a member of the Rangers.
