Austin Dean hit the first home run of his big league career on Friday night sending a 94 mph pitch from Trevor Gott over the left field wall.
Called up on Wednesday, Dean waited until his second big league game before going yard.
The Marlins figure to give Dean plenty of playing time over the next six weeks after he hit a scorching .345/.410/.511 with 12 homers while splitting time between Double and Triple-A.
