Aaron Rodgers’ season is over, Packers place star QB on IR

The Packers were a long shot to make the playoffs entering Week 15. They lost to the Panthers and then a Falcons win on Monday night ended those chances.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers long-awaited return lasted all of four quarters. On Tuesday the team placed Rodgers on injured reserve ending his season. This came after the team re-signed clip board holder Joe Callahan.

Rodgers, 34, will not be subjected to any additional hits this season and will head into the offseason early. His seven games are his lowest total since 2007.

Brett Hundley will re-assume the Packers starting quarterback job. Hundley, 24, owns a 78 quarterback rating this season with 1,534 passing yards with eight touchdowns to eight interceptions.
