Dolphins sign another quarterback not named Colin Kaepernick

First Jay Cutler, now this?

The Miami Dolphins have signed another quarterback and it is not Colin Kaepernick. Wow. The team released veteran cornerback Byron Maxwell to make room on the roster for….. David Fales.

Who the heck is David Fales you ask?

Good question. Fales is the latest guy the Dolphins have brought in to “play” quarterback. Fales spent time with the Dolphins during training camp.

Many figured Maxwell would be cut by the Dolphins next year after he lost his starting job and then got hurt but now he is out. I guess there are some salary ramifications that actually save the Dolphins a few dollars here but really the important thing for everyone to know that David Fales is just one injury to Matt Moore – an extremely talented backup himself – from playing in the NFL!

Jay Cutler who was signed over Kaepernick before the season began hurt his ribs last week and is out for the time being. Cutler, when actually on the field, had shown mixed results to put it nicely leaving some to question if the Dolphins (4-2) are better with Moore under center.

Fales was on the Bears roster when Dolphins head coach Adam Gase was there. A sixth round pick in 2014, Fales got his lone NFL action last year completing 2-of-5 passes for a whopping 22 yards while also fumbling once. Again the 27-year-old is mainly on the Dolphins to hold down the bench. I guess Colin Kaepernick could have done that too but the Dolphins choose Fales. Go figure.
