Greg Holland tied Kenley Jansen for the lead in the NL with 41 saves. Now the Rockies closer who made the all-star team is expected to decline a $15 million option for the 2018 season as he seeks a larger salary.

Jon Heyman brings the news and considers the four-year deal given the Mark Melancon of the Giants, worth $62 million, as a comparable deal for Holland. The 2017 season marked the third time Holland has recorded 40 or more saves in a season.

The Rockies are expected to make a play to keep Holland as the two sides are said to have enjoyed their relationship. Holland is a Scott Boras client.
