Kyle Busch was the fastest of the 40 cars which will take the green flag for Sunday’s QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway but he failed post qualifying inspection leaving his brother Kurt to earn the pole.
Cars struggled to keep the handling coming off of turn four, in Friday’s qualifying session.
Jimmie Johnson is the most recent Atlanta winner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Sunday’s race will consist of 325 laps for 500 miles. FOX will have television coverage of the race beginning at 1:00 pm ET with the green flag waiving at 1:16 pm ET.
Kyle Busch will start 39th. It’s worth mentioning that Bobby Labonte won the 2001 race from that position the furthest a winner has ever come from at Atlanta.
