Michael Waltrip Racing may have shut down but that will not keep driver Michael Waltrip from running in the 2016 Daytona 500.
Waltrip, a commentator for Fox Sports, will drive a third entry for BK Racing when the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season gets underway. Waltrip will be driving the No. 83 car which typically will be driven by Matt DiBenedetto while the second-year driver shifts to the No. 93 for the season opener.
David Ragan, the team’s other driver, will be in the No. 23 car as normal.
Maxwell House will be sponsoring Waltrip for the event. The driver is a two-time winner of the Daytona 500.
