Twins sign Carlos Quentin to minor league deal

The Twins have signed Carlos Quentin to a minor league contract.

Quentin, 33, will also be invited to spring training as he attempts to make a comeback. The veteran has not appeared at the major league level since July of 2014.

It has been a while since Quentin was a viable option at the big league level as injuries have derailed his career. Quentin will have to show something this spring if he is to crack the Twins roster to start the season.

Quentin retired last May but is not really ready to walk away from the game. He is a two-time All-Star with a career .252/.347/.484 line with 154 home runs.
