It has been nearly five years since Anthony Vasquez last pitched at the major league level.
On Monday the 29-year-old left hander re-signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, the same organization he spent last season with.
Vasquez provides the Phillies with minor league depth after pitching at both Double-A and Triple-A last season. Combined his numbers resulted in a 4.10 ERA across 134 innings.

The left handed Vasquez made seven starts for the Seattle Mariners back in 2011. He was 1-6 with a 8.90 ERA during what amounted to just 29 1/3 innings. After that season Vasquez underwent brain surgery but he has struggled in the minor leagues upon his return.
