World Series Game 1: Mets vs. Royals start time, pitchers and lineups

Game 1 of the World Series is tonight from Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO. The American League Champion Kansas City Royals will host the National League Champion New York Mets in the best of seven game series.

The game is slated for an official start of 8:07 pm ET but rain around the area could be an issue. With rain hitting Kansas City this morning and expected to last much of the day it’s questionable if the game will start on time. Fortunately the chance of rain goes down throughout the evening. If rain proves to be an issue MLB could cancel the game and push it back a day which could create the odd situation of the first five games of the World Series being played on consecutive days.

Game 1 will see Matt Harvey on the mound for the Mets and Edinson Volquez for the Royals.  Harvey is pitching on ten days rest while Volquez is on six.

The lineups for Game 1 have not be released yet but we will try and update this once they are.
