If Jeff Gordon’s final race at Bristol looks a lot like his first it’s because his No. 24 Chevrolet SS will bare the iconic rainbow scheme which he drove to start his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career.
Gordon will start 24th in Saturday night’s Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol. In his career Gordon has five career wins at Bristol and has finished inside the top-five 17 times and inside the top-ten 25 times in 45 career starts.
While the name Dupont is not on the car, the car does look strikingly like the 1992-2000 colors that Gordon drove in.
Without a win thus far Gordon currently sits 15th in the Sprint Cup Series point standings. While he has a nice gap between him and 16th place Clint Bowyer, wins by drivers outside of the top-16 in points could knock Gordon out of the year end Chase.
