Michael Crabtree left his visity with the Miami Dolphins without a contract. It was not for a lack of talking though as the Miami Herald reports that the former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver was offered “close to $3 million” before he left.
Crabtree turned down the Dolphins offer and is said to be seeking a deal that will pay him $4.5 million next season. He will now head to the Oakland Raiders looking for a contract.
There is no shortage of big time prospects in the NFL Draft so Crabtree may be forced to re-adjust his contract demands. Already the Jacksonville Jaguars have distanced themselves from him in contract talks.
Crabtree is coming off a full season in which he caught 68 passes for 698 yards and four touchdowns. In parts of six NFL seasons he has topped the 1,000 yard mark just once.
