The Atlanta Braves have purchased the contract of Kelly Johnson adding him to their bench.
Johnson, 33, becomes a option for the braves at the corner outfield spots as well as third base, second base and first base this season.
The veteran began his career with the Braves spending four seasons with them before making stops in Arizona, Toronto, Tampa Bay, New York and Baltimore.
Johnson’s contact skills have taken a nose dive over the last handful of seasons but he still is a viable source of power hitting 39 home runs over the last three seasons.
