The Milwaukee Brewers are still looking at options for their closers position.
With a trade for Johnathan Papelbon of the Philadelphia Phillies moving along slowly the team has not ruled out re-signing Francisco Rodriguez.
Last year Rodriguez racked up 44 saves in 49 attempts while finishing with a 3.04 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and a 73/18 K/BB ratio.
The Brewers and Phillies continue to disagree over compensation for Papelbon while he also carries a $16 million option for 2016. A cheaper alternative may be simply to re-sign Rodriguez and keep him at the back end of the bullpen.
