The offseason continues to get worse for Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth.
Werth, 35, will undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday on his right shoulder. He is expected to need two to three months of recovery time which puts his status for the start of the 2015 season in question.
In August he missed time due to discomfort in the shoulder and apparently it was not getting any better during offseason workouts. Why Werth waited until early January to undergo surgery remains in question.
Michael Taylor would be the Nationalls starting left fielder if Werth is unable to get back in time.

Werth is coming off a season in which he hit .292/.394/.455 with 16 home runs and 85 runs scored.
