When David Gilliland gets behind the wheel of the No. 38 Love’s Travel Stops Ford at Daytona he will do so with a new crew chief calling the shots.

Donnie Wingo will take over as the new crew chief of the Front Row Racing No. 38 Ford Fusion taking the spot most recently held by interim crew chief Jay Guy.

“I’m looking forward to working with David. I think he has a lot of talent. It’s a little different opportunity than what I’ve had lately, but I’m looking forward to the challenge,” said Wingo. “I’m looking forwardsto working with David. I think he has a lot of talent. He’s been great at restrictor plate track and road courses, two areas where I’ve had success in the past.”

With Trevor Bayne moving to the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing ride full time, Wingo was let go by the Wood Brothers.

Thus far there is no word whether or not Guy will return to FRM. The team is rumored to be running a third car with Cole Whitt this season.
