The Lions will not have defensive tackle Nick Fairley for Sunday’s Wild Card game against the Cowboys.
Fairley has not played since Week 8 while dealing with a knee injury.
News that he will not play on Sunday is hardly a surprise. There is some belief that he could return if the Lions advance. Regardless Fairley would only be a package player.
Fairley won't play Sunday, but that could set up the timeline for him getting back on the field if the Lions advance past Dallas.

Though four years in the NFL Fairley has never played a full regular season. He finished this year with 14 tackles and a sack though eight contests. Set to become a free agent there is no reason to believe he will ever wear a Lions uniform again.
