Headley split time between the Padres and Yankees appearing in 135 games and hitting .243/.328/.372 with 20 home runs and 49 RBI.
The Astros, Marlins and Giants also showed interest in Headley but none were willing to go as high as the Yankees who want him at third base since they are unsure about the ability of Alex Rodriguez to play the position.
