Ryan Mallett waited for three years to start in the NFL. After two games it’s all over.
The 26-year-old Mallett will miss the rest of the 2014 season with a pectoral injury.
Mallett’s injury occurred in preface warm ups and he toughed out the game against the Bengals but produced a poor line of 21-for-45 for 189 yards and an interception. The injury explains part of his poor play.
Headed towards free agency his chances of being an NFL starter may be over.
Whether or not the Texans turn back to Ryan Fitzpatrick or give rookie Tom Savage a shot remains to be seen.
