Adam LaRoche has signed a two-year deal with the White Sox worth $25 million.

This is one of those deals what catches your eyes not because of the value but simply because the White Sox already have a very good first baseman in Jose Abreu.

With Abreu on the roster the White Sox will figure to use LaRoche at the designated hitter spot. He could also spell Abreu on occasion giving the AL rookie of the year some time off the field.

LaRoche hit a respectable .259/.362/.455 with 26 homers and 92 RBI in 140 games with the Nationals in 2014. He very well could see an increase in his offensive numbers this year as he moves to U.S. Cellular Field.
