No surprise: Redskins will start Colt McCoy against Cowboys

The Washington Redskins will start Colt McCoy in tonight’s Monday Night Football game against NFC East rival Dallas.

McCoy has been expected to start all week long but the Redskins had played up an angle where Robert Griffin III could play. That never seemed likely with a bye week looming.

The Redskins will indeed turn to McCoy for tonight’s game after he led them to a win a week ago against the Tennessee Titans. McCoy was 11-of-12 for 128 yards and a touchdown in the second half after replacing ineffective Kirk Cousins.

ODDS: Cowboys vs. Redskins

A Cowboys defense which has been better than expected will attempt to make McCoy’s day miserable. In 21 games he has been sacked 55 times, thrown 20 interceptions and committed 12 fumbles.

There is a chance Griffin plays next week against Minnesota. The Redskins have a bye a week later.
