Colt McCoy will start for Redskins on Monday if Robert Griffin cannot

Kirk Cousins’ turn as the starter of the Washington Redskins has come to an end again. After becoming a turnover machine, Cousins was benched to start the second half of Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans.

Colt McCoy entered and led the Redskins to a win. He will remain the teams quarterback until Robert Grifffin III returns. Griffin could be cleared by the team for Monday’s game against Dallas which would make much of Jay Gruden’s comments on Monday meaningless.

McCoy, a fifth year player, has appeared in 29 regular season games. During that span he has completed 58.9-percent of his passes for 4,529 yards tossing 22 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.
