On Thursday New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola revealed that he underwent groin surgery in the offseason.

That could be part of the reason for why Amendola has seen a decrease in playing time and production this season. The 28-year-old can simply not stay healthy and with three catches for 16 yards in four games this season it is easy to envision him being cut at the end of the season.

The situation around another Patriots wide receiver continues to be confusing at best.

According to head coach Bill Belichick the reason Aaron Dobson has been a healthy inactive for the past two weeks is because of “football reasons.”

It was previously reported though various outlets that Dobson had “mouthed off” to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels leading him to be inactive.

Asked about any confrontation between the two Belichick responded, “No, and I’ll have a comment on that later.”

In 12 games last season Dobson had 37 catches for 519 yards and four touchdowns.
