The Baltimore Orioles have opted to keep right handed pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez on their roster for the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers.

Jimenez was a disappointment this season for the Orioles posting a 4.81 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 125 1/3 innings of work. He lost his role in the rotation and finished the season pitching out of the bullpen where he pitched well in September.

The Orioles feel Jimenez can be a useful arm out of the bullpen and have kept him on the roster. Brian Matusz and T.J. McFarland were unable to make the Orioles ALDS roster.

Should the Orioles advance to the American League Championship Series they may have Chris Davis.

David was suspended on September 12 for amphetamine use and missed the rest of the regular season and will be forced to sit out the first eight playoff games this season. A decision to activate Davis will hinge on how many games the ALDS goes – and of course if the Orioles advance.

Davis hit just .196 during the regular season but added 26 home runs in 127 games.
