Adam Dunn is now a member of the Oakland Athletics.

The two-time All-Star who has 460 career home runs was acquired by the Athletic’s on Sunday in a trade with the Chicago White Sox.

Dunn waived his no-trade clause in order to go to the Athletics. Thus far this season Dunn has a .220/.340/.433 line with 20 homers and 54 RBI. The Athletics will hope that his bad can provide a boost to an offense which has been struggling to plate runs. The 34-year-old Dunn is a free agent at the end of the season and has been considering retirement.

In exchanged for Dunn, the White Sox acquired right handed pitcher Nolan Sanburn. In 120 minor league innings he owns a 2.92 ERA and 118/41 K/BB. Ideally Sanburn could become an option in the bullpen for the White Sox down the road but thus far the 23-year-old has only made it to High-A.
