The Cincinnati Reds have recalled Dylan Axelrod from Triple-A Louisville.
Axelrod will be on the mound in Thursday’s series finale against the Chicago Cubs. His last outing came ten days ago when he held Colorado to two runs over six innings of work.
Prior to being picked up by the Reds, Axelrod spent much of the season at Triple-A Charlotte for the Chicago White Sox. Overall between Charlotte and Louisville he has appeared in 24 games posting a 4.01 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 130 1/3 innings of work.
In order to make room for Axelrod on their roster the Reds sent reliver Daniel Corcino to Louisville. Corcino should return to the Reds when rosters expand on Monday.
