The Dallas Cowboys trimmed their roster down to 72 players by releasing Martez Wilson and J.C. Copeland.
Wilson, 25, was unable to crack a Cowboys roster already thin on players. A former No. 72 overall pick in the 2011 draft he has five sacks in 38 career NFL games. He previously had been let go by the New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders before landing with the Cowboys last November.
Copeland, an undrafted fullback out of LSU, was never expected to win a spot on the Cowboys roster.
