Racing for the lead Kevin Harvick made contact with Denny Hamlin ending the night of the No. 11 car.
Hamlin’s spinning car hit the No. 88 of Dale Earnhardt Jr as he bounced off the inside wall and up the track. The drivers side of Earnhardt Jr’s car was destroyed sending the Diet Mountain Dew car behind the wall.
Following a new rule created by NASCAR, a frustrated Hamlin left his car once safety personnel arrived. He then took a moment to heave his Hans device at Harvick’s car.
“He thinks he knows everything… I wish I had some kind of a car left to show him the favor back. We are not even half way.” said Hamlin on Harvick following a visit to the infield care center.
