Ryan Truex will not be racing on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway. The driver of the No. 83 Burger King/Dr. Pepper Toyota Camry crashed his car into the outside wall in Turn 2 of the track early in practice on Saturday.
Truex was taken to a local hospital after complaining of pain and a headache. Scans of his head, neck, chest and abdomen, which were all negative but Truex was diagnosed with a concussion.
JJ Yeley has been tabbed to fill in for the Truex in the No. 83 machine for Sunday’s running of the Pure Michigan 400.
