Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland’s most recent rehab start did not go over well.

Holland allowed four runs in just one inning of work for Tripe-A Round Rock in his second rehab outing.

The Rangers have been hoping to get Holland back into their rotation by the end of August. He needed 42 pitches to get though his inning of work. Initially the Rangers had slated Holland to go three innings on Monday.

According to reports he did reach 94 mph on his fast ball and was pleased with his offspeed stuff.

Holland is trying to work his way back from left knee surgery. General manager Jon Daniels conceded two weeks ago that the Rangers considered shutting Holland down for the season.
