Jim Thome has not appeared in a baseball game since the 2012 season. On Saturday he signed an honorary one-day deal with the Indians retiring with the team that he made his big league debut with in 1991.
The announcement came on the day that a statue of Thome was unveiled in Cleveland’s Progressive Field.
