While Ubaldo Jimenez continues to progress in his recovery from a right ankle injury, he will not be making a scheduled rehab start on Wednesday.

Jimenez has not pitched since July 5 and landed on the 15-day disabled list a week later.

“Each time it’s a little better, but he’s still favoring it somewhat,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter told the Baltimore Sun on Sunday. “It’s not to the point where he can start a rehab. We’re not to that point yet.

Jimenez is 3-8 with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP in 18 starts this season.

“It’s kind of weak, and that’s why we’re working on making it stronger,” Jimenez said. “It went good. It’s not 100 percent, but we’re moving in the right direction.”
