The Colorado Rockies have acquired pitcher Jair Jurrjens from the Cincinnati Reds for infielder Harold Riggins.
Jurrjens, 28, had struggled at Triple-A Louisville prior to the trade posting a 4.46 ERA, 1.60 WHIP, and 27/13 K/BB ratio through 34 1/3 innings of work.
"I'm gonna call him J.J., I know that much," Walt Weiss said of the #Rockies trading for Jair Jurrjens today. More details coming…

Even with his struggles considered, Jurrjens becomes an option for the Rockies who have baeball’s worst ERA.
Jurrjens best seasn came back in 2009 with the Atlanta Braves when he started NL high 34 games posting 2.60 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. Since then injuries and ineffectiveness have taken its toll as he has made just 13 appearances since the start of the 2012 season.
