The St. Louis Cardinals will call up pitching prospect Marco Gonzales for a start on Wednesday.
This will be the big league debut for the left handed Gonzales who was a first round pick just a year ago.
Gonzales has a 2.08 ERA in his first 99 2/3 pro innings to go with 101/26 K/BB ratio. He will make his first big league start in Colorado.
If Gonzales is to stick around he will need to do well right out of the gate because Joe Kelly is nearing his return from a hamstring injury.
