Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee is hopeful that he will be able to begin a throwing program this week.

Lee, 35, has been on the disabled list since May 19 since coming down with a strained left elbow. Lee is still feeling some discomfort in it but says it is improving.

“It’s still there a little bit,” Lee said Monday, via Phillies.com. “It’s getting better.”

There is no timetable on when Lee may be able to return to the Phillies rotation.

Prior to going to the disabled list Lee had made 10 starts going 4-4 with a 3.18 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP.
