Dodgers release Miguel Olivo following ear biting brawl

Miguel Olivo has had his last bite of action with the Los Angeles Dodgers. On Thursday the team released the catcher just days after he bit minor league teammate Alex Guerrero’s ear.

Olivo played eight games in the big leagues this season with the Dodgers, hitting .217 while driving in two runs. Since being sent to Triple-A, Olivo was hitting .368 with four home runs and 20 runs batted in for Albuquerque.

The argument between Olivo and Guerrero began when Guerrero failed to tag out a runner. Thus far no charges have been filed against Olivo as Guerrero had been waiting to speak to a lawyer.
