The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Carlos Beltran on disabled list.
Beltran injured his right elbow while taking batting practice earlier this week and has already received a cortisone shot to deal with the pain. Right now it is undecided whether or not Beltran will have surgery to remove a bone spur in the elbow which means his return date is unclear right now.
Carlos Beltran said they haven't discussed surgery. Getting better but not able to swing the bat yet.

Prior to injuring his elbow Beltran was hitting just .234/.286/.430 in 33 games with five home runs and 15 RBI. The Yankees gave Beltran a three-year deal worth $45 million this past winter.
