The Los Angeles Angels will recall pitcher Matt Shoemaker to start Tuesdays game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Shoemaker, 27, is a right hander who owns a 6.31 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP across five minor league starts at Triple-A Salt Lake.
In early April he made three appearances out of the Angels bullpen allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings of work. After being signed as a undrafted free agent Shoemaker made his way up to Triple-A by the end of the 2011 season. He has been stuck there since.
