The Cleveland Browns were all over the NFL Draft moving down, moving up and in the end drafting quarterback Johnny Manziel at No. 22.
So what or who made the Browns draft Manziel? A homeless guy.
ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio told a wild story about Browns owner Jimmy Haslam’s encounter with a homeless man who was holding up a sign to draft Manziel.
It is unclear why the Browns waited until No. 22 if they were so convinced by the homeless guy. While there may be some truth to the story its probably been romanticized for TV.
Manziel becomes the third quarterback selected at No. 22 by the Browns since 2007. The other two, Brady Quinn and Brandon Weeden, have not turned out so well for the team.
