The worst kept secret of the NFL Draft is that the Houston Texans need a quarterback. However whether or not they draft one with the first overall pick remains to be seen.
With none of the quarterbacks in this years draft clearly distancing themselves above the rest the Texans are left to ponder.
According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle the Texans are going to choose between South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Of course McClain believes there is also a chance that the Texans could trade down. So in short, anything is possible with the draft just a week away.
The Texans may like Manziel but perhaps they are willing to take a gamble and trade down in hopes that he, or perhaps Blake Bortles is still on the board. At that time it would surprise no one if the Texans went ahead and drafted a signal caller.
Last time when the Texans had the No. 1 overall pick they shied away from taking a quarterback and instead selected Mario Williams. That decision worked out quite well for everyone as Vince Young and Matt Lineart failed to live up to their expectations.
