Kevin Harvick won the pole for this weekends NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway. The driver of the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet beat out Joey Logano and Aric Almirola for the top spot.
In the final segment of knockout qualifying Harvick set the fast time at 26.802 seconds to claim the pole at the 1.366-mile track located located in Darlington, SC. Twenty-five drivers broke the old track record in the first session but in the second session it was Aric Almirola who went to record books with a lap of 26.705 seconds.
Last season it was Matt Kenseth winning this race. Sunday’s race will air on FOX beginning at 6:30 pm ET. The green flag will wave at 6:45 pm ET.
The Bojangles Southern 500 will be 367 laps making up 501.3 miles.
