When the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to Daytona International Speedway the No. 55 Toyota Camry of Brian Vickers will have a special paint scheme.
Vickers will have his Michael Waltrip Racing machine wrapped in the colors of the 2013 NCAA National Champions, the Florida State Seminoles. Along with the garnet and gold paint, a logo celebrating Florida State’s championship will be on the hood while MWR sponsor Aaron’s is on the sides and rear of the car.
“Everyone in America knows about Florida State’s tradition of success especially in athletics,” said Vickers in a news release. “Aaron’s and I really want to continue that tradition at Daytona in July and give Seminole fans a chance to see their car and colors celebrate in victory lane. I’m excited to be representing my home state on the car for Daytona. We’re hoping it will give us a ‘home field’ advantage we need.”
This is not the first time that the No. 55 car has celebrated a National Championship winning team. They previously have honored Alabama and Auburn. Last year they honored the NCAA Men’s Basketball champions in Louisville.
Vickers owns three wins in the Cup Series. In 15 career starts at Daytona he has a best finish of seventh. He finished 30th in this seasons Daytona 500.
