WINNER: Chase Elliott, full results from Texas
Kevin Harvick won the pole for Friday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. The driver of the No. 5 JR Motorsprots Chevrolet beat out Matt Kenseth and Regan Smith for the top spot.
In the final segment of knockout qualifying Harvick set the fast time with a lap speed 29.195 seconds, claiming the pole at the 1.5-mile track located in Fort Worth, TX.
Last season Kyle Busch won this race while Brad Keselowski won the fall event in the fall. Coverage of the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 will take place on ESPN2 beginning at 8:30 pm ET with the green flag set to wave at 8:46 pm ET.
Failing to pass pre-race inspection due to camber issues were Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Ty Dillon and Chris Buescher. They will all start at the back of the field.
Friday nights race will be 200 laps making up the advertised 300 miles.
