The Dallas Cowboys will create $7.5 million in salary cap space with the release of DeMarcus Ware. For 2014 Ware was to count $16.003 million against the cap with a $12.25 million base salary.

Ware met with the Cowboys on Tuesday to talk about his future. He reportedly wanted the team to release him prior to the start of free agency. The Cowboys had been holding out hope that Ware would take a paycut for the 2014 season after his pay dropped off last season.

Ware and his agent simply did not want to accept a paycut reports Calvin Watkins.

Ware will turn 32 before the season starts. He had just six sacks last season, his lowest total since entering the NFL in 2005. Prior to last season Ware had double digit sacks in each of the last seven seasons.

There will be a market for Ware but where he ends up remains to be seen.
