Winner: Brad Keselowski wins Kobalt 400, full results
Joey Logano won the pole for this weekends NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as knockout qualifying made its debut on 1.5-mile tracks.
In the third and final segment the No. 22 of Logano was the fastest of the day claiming the pole at the 1.5-mile flat track located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Logano’s third segment set a new track record (193.278 mph), besting the previous track record set in segment one by Brian Vickers. For Logano it is his eighth career pole. Two of his three wins have come from the pole.
Last season Matt Kenseth won this race. Coverage of Kobalt 400 (sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Kobalt Tools 400) will take place on FOX beginning at 3:00 pm ET with the green flag set to wave at 3:16 pm ET.
Sunday’s race will be 267 laps making up 400 miles.
