Jeff Burton will get behind the wheel of the No. 66 Toyota Camry for the first time this week at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Burton will be making his season debut in the Kobalt 400.

After spending time at Richard Childress Racing dating back to the 2004 season, Burton has joined Michael Waltrip Racing for a limited schedule this season. Thus far the official number of races for Burton has not been confirmed but Joe Nemechek will drive the car for Jay Robinson Racing when Burton or Michael Waltrip are not.

Burton will also see time in the announcers booth this season after he landed a spot with NBC Sports over the winter.

“I really like the direction that Michael Waltrip Racing is heading. I really like my team and I am excited to see how our off season testing worked for us.” said Burton. “I am excited to work with everyone at MWR and I am really excited to see what we have for them in Vegas.”

Burton owns 21 wins in 691 starts in the Sprint Cup Series. He has 134 top fives and 254 finishes inside the top ten.
