DeMarcus Ware had a career low six sacks in 2013. Set to count $16 million against the salary cap in 2014, the Cowboys need to rework Ware’s deal as they are $30 million over the cap.

Ware is set to make $26 million over the next two seasons but thus far the Cowboys and the defensive lineman have not had any talks about a restructured deal reports Pro Football Talk.

Things only get tougher in 2015 with Ware set to count $17.5 million against the cap.

Despite being 31 and having dealt with nagging injuries over the last few seasons Cowboys owner Jerry Jones still believes in Ware.

“He should actually be in the prime of his career, candidly, strength-wise, explosion-wise,” Jones said. “That’s one of the things we got to, I think, count on is him having more impact in the game as he moves away from his injury.”
