Alex Rodriguez has abandoned his lawsuits against Major League Baseball, commissioner Bud selig and the Major League Baseball Players Association.

Last month Rodriguez’s 211-game suspension was reduced to 162 games plus the 2014 playoffs by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz.

Rodriguez’ attorney, Joe Tacopina has confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com that a notice of voluntary dismissal was filed in the cases Friday afternoon but no explanation was given and no further details were provided as to the reason.

Rodriguez will lose $25 million in salary for the 2014 season.

“Alex Rodriguez has done the right thing by withdrawing his lawsuit,” the MLBPA said in a statement. “His decision to move forward is in everyone’s best interest.”
