The St. Louis Cardinals have given relief pitcher Pat Nesek a minor league deal according to both Keith Olbermann and Derrick Goold.
Neshek, 33, will also be invited to spring training where he will compete for a bullpen spot with the Cardinals. The sidearm tossing right hander spent last season with the Oakland Atheltics compiling a 3.35 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP over 40 1/3 innings of work.
