The Texas Rangers have signed pitcher Armando Galarraga to a minor league contract.
Galarraga, 32, was a member of the Rangers system years ago before being moved to Detroit. In Detroit Galarraga had a strong rookie season, an imperfect game and two down seasons.
After bouncing from Arizona to Houston, he pitched at the Triple-A level last season for Colorado and Cincinnati. He’s expected to fill a similar role with the Rangers in 2014.
